HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM PGED!
As we wrap up 2025, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has been part of PGED’s journey this year. With the challenges it has brought us and so many others, we are grateful to have had your support through it all. Our hearts are full of gratitude for our community and hopeful for what we can collectively accomplish in 2026.
With your support this year, PGED:
-
Kicked off the year at the Sundance Film Festival with a panel on breaking barriers in science and storytelling, featuring Ting alongside TV/film storytellers Nicole Perlman and Wendy Calhoun.
-
Organized and participated in 57 events, including high school visits, library programs, educator workshops, conference presentations, and fandom conventions.
-
Launched a district-wide professional development series with Worcester Public Schools, piloting a model for wide-reaching teacher training in personal genetics education.
-
Ventured “Beyond the Horizon in Genetics” with our Department of Genetics at a cross-sector forum that brought together more than 80 Genetics faculty, students, staff, educators, faith leaders, storytellers, and business leaders.
-
Co-hosted a community forum and a public engagement workshop with the Genetics Society of America (GSA).
-
Created new, free resources—including an online edition of our Share Your Stance on Personal Genetics game—which has already been used by hundreds of people since going live.
Behind each of these milestones are the educators, students, community members, scientists, and partners who inspire us to keep progressing toward our mission to inspire curiosity and dialogue about personal genetics. Thank you for your time, ideas, and belief in our work.
As we continue through the holiday season, we hope you find time to rest and connect with the people and communities that bring you happiness. From all of us at PGED, thank you for being part of this journey. We wish you a joyful holiday season and a bright start to the new year.
Warmly,
The PGED Team
Marnie, Robin, Rob, Gill, & Ting

More than ever, it’s vital that we narrow the gap between science and society, so people have the knowledge and confidence to speak up, ask questions, and make informed decisions based on their needs and values. Consider a gift to PGED to help us grow our impact in classrooms, communities, and beyond.
All donations help keep our resources freely available online.
We are grateful for your generosity.

Please note that 15% of donations pays for overhead which allows us to do the work that we do from our home in the Department of Genetics at Harvard Medical School.
