National Geographic’s Innovator series: Professor George Church

June 3, 2014Written by pgEd

130109GeorgeForWebsite-3One of pgEd’s advisors, Professor George Church, is featured in National Geographic’s Innovator series talking about genome sequencing, genetic engineering, and de-extinction. Professor Church, who was part of our scientific panel for our recent Congressional briefing in Washington DC, has also been in the news recently in both the New York Times magazine cover story on de-extinction and in this recent piece about synthetic biology and the range of scientists and government organizations who are starting to pay close attention to the field.

In the National Geographic piece, we cannot resist mentioning the letter from Duke University they highlight – a good reminder that incredibly talented and brilliant people can get thrown out of graduate school and go on to great success!
