The NCAA has recently settled a lawsuit brought by former players regarding concussions. As part of the settlement, they are setting aside $75 million dollars for research and treatment, and are asking colleges to update their concussion detection and return to play policies.
pgEd’s lesson plan, “Athletics and Genetics” explores the issues around using genetic analysis to protect athletes from injury risk, including concussion.
