On Jan 3rd, Lauren was an invited speaker at the Broad Institute on a panel addressing the ethical, sociocultural, and scientific questions raised by depictions of genomics in modern fiction. Other panelists were Dr. George Church (Professor of Genetics at Harvard Medical School and founder of the Personal Genome Project), Dr. Jay Clayton (Professor of English at Vanderbilt University whose work has explored how literature and film have shaped the public’s understanding of genetics), and Dr. Chad Nusbaum (Scientific Director of the Broad Technology Labs). Lauren enjoyed participating in an engaging discussion with panelists and the audience.
