Athletics are often divided into men’s and women’s categories to provide fair competition, but efforts to define who qualifies to compete in the women’s events have been fraught with controversy. How might the history of sex testing in elite women’s athletics help us explore the complexity of human sex variation? This presentation was recorded in July of 2021.
