A family tree on a piece of paper.
Mini-lesson

Description

It is increasingly possible for individuals to learn about their genetic ancestry through low-cost DNA tests marketed to consumers. Ancestry tests are nuanced, and the results are subject to limitations. Still, these tests can yield results that are surprising, or, warmly welcomed and might fill in missing pieces of a family story. This mini-lesson encourages people to consider multiple perspectives as they shape their own views on this subject.
