Faith communities play a core role in many people’s lives, serving as a trusted source of advice, support, and information.
The rapid advancement of genetic technologies leaves many people with questions and concerns. How can we as a society take advantage of the promise of genetics while avoiding the mistakes of the past? How do we ensure people have access to new genetic technologies? How do we make decisions about whether and how to proceed with genome editing?
PGED is engaging with faith communities in a variety of ways.
We meet people in their place of worship, and we participate in conferences on genetics and faith. We work with clergy and congregational leaders who are often at the forefront of shepherding their community through the ever-evolving landscape of personal genetics.
