JAX Teaching the Genome Generation course

The Jackson Laboratory is excited to launch Teaching the Genome Generation, a one-week, residential, professional development short course for Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire STEM teachers. The course will be held Monday, July 7 to Friday, July 11, 2014 at The Jackson Laboratory, Bar Harbor, Maine. This hands-on course will focus on modern Genomic Biology and will cover 1) Molecular Biology Techniques in the Laboratory, 2) Use of Bioinformatics and Genome Databases, and 3) Social, Ethical, and Legal Topics in Personal Genetics. pgEd’s Dana Waring will be teaching the social, ethical and legal dimensions of the course.
