Our colleagues at the American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG) have just announced the question for their 9th Annual DNA Day Essay Contest for students in grades 9-12. Both students and teachers can win significant prizes, up to $1000.
This year’s question focuses on complex traits and the importance of both genetic and environmental influences. This is a central theme in a number of pgEd lessons and a key concept for students to understand, especially as personal genetics is playing a larger role in our healthcare and other aspects of our lives.
