The pgEd team will be leading a session at the "Social Issues in Biology" course at Harvard University titled "Engaging Diverse Publics on Issues in Genetics." This is a discussion-based course focusing on controversial issues in biology and the social responsibility of scientists. Students in this class are drawn from PhD programs across biology-related disciplines as well as from other programs such as law, bioethics and education.

“Raising a woke generation of geneticists: how and why to include eugenics history in genetics classes” – National Harbor, MD

Marnie has been invited to speak about the history of the American eugenics movement in a session at The Allied Genetics Conference (TAGC), a conference organized by the Genetics Society of America. Organized by Dr. Michele Markstein, this session invites genetics educators, at undergraduate and graduate-level, to participate in a discussion about how to talk about the history of eugenics as well as ethical issues surrounding modern genetics research in their classrooms.
