Congressional briefing on GINA

pgEd is organizing a Congressional briefing on genetic privacy and the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA). This is the first in a series of briefing that the Office of Congresswoman Louise Slaughter has invited pgEd to organize, as a result of the audience's tremendous interest in personal genetics at our May briefing. GINA, originally introduced by Congresswoman Slaughter into the United States House of Representatives, was ultimately signed into law in 2008.

Congressional briefing on gene editing

pgEd is looking forward to its 4th Congressional briefing on November 17th, co-hosted by Congresswoman Louise Slaughter and Senator Elizabeth Warren. The briefing will highlight the most cutting-edge topics in personal genetics, including gene editing, nanobots, and non-invasive prenatal testing. Our panel includes pioneering geneticists Diana Bianchi, George Church, and Jennifer Doudna. Following the briefing we'll be heading to the White House Office of Science & Technology Policy for a briefing.

Congressional briefing on genetics & space

pgEd is heading back to Washington DC for our 5th Congressional briefing. The briefing, co-hosted by Congresswoman Louise Slaughter and Senator Elizabeth Warren, will be a lively discussion on genetics and the implications for space travel. We are delighted to welcome featured speakers Charles Bolden (NASA), Dava Newman (NASA), pgEd director Ting Wu (Harvard Medical School), and Jeffrey Kahn (Johns Hopkins University).
