Sandra de Castro Buffington and pgEd’s Marnie Gelbart at GET 2013

SandraMarnie-e1370881142890The Genomes, Environment and Traits conference asked pgEd to share our mission with their attendees, which Marnie Gelbart was more than happy to do this past April. Marnie highlighted pgEd’s newest projects, including our lesson plans and Map-Ed, and was thrilled to introduce Sandra de Castro Buffington from Hollywood Health & Society¬†(HH&S).

Hollywood, Health & Society connects entertainment professionals – writers and others – with timely, accurate information about emerging scientific discoveries and issues. Sandra de Castro Buffington, who is the Director of HH&S and also a member of pgEd’s Advisory Board, shares some of the storylines they have consulted on, and makes a compelling argument for the power of Hollywood to educate and inform the general public about science and the role scientific discoveries can play in people’s lives.
